The t-shirt features a contemporary map of Philadelphia, highlighting the city’s current street grid and riverfront edges along the Schuykill and Delaware Rivers. The original city of the revolutionary period is depicted with white city blocks with a red outline.  Much of the modern city overlays earlier marshland. The grey city blocks reflect centuries of expansion, infill, and infrastructure development that reshaped the colonial footprint into today’s urban form.
